Note about the Frazier Mountain Park Cooling Center:

The Frazier Park Cooling Center is not open
The Frazier Park Cooling Center at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center will not be open today Friday, June 18 or tomorrow, Saturday, June 19, according to Kern County.
We reported in our June 18 print edition that the cooling center would be open, based on the National Weather Service forecast (as of last Wednesday) of 95+ temperatures for those dates. The NWS data we accessed fluctuated, and the temperature currently forecast for Frazier Park on Friday was 95 (though it was 94 at 4 p.m.) and 93 degrees Saturday. Kern County said the NWS prediction falls just short of their threshold to open the cooling center.
