Los Padres Estates neighbors on Starr Court had seen abusive and intimidating behavior by Henry “Hank” Curtis, 49—yet someone they respected loved him. When Curtis was shot and killed on Saturday, May 24 by Kern County Sheriff’s Deputy Rogelio Medina, the mood was a mixture of grief for his girlfriend (Kelly Attlesey, who owned the home) and relief.
