New closed-door map dumps Mountain Communities out of Couch’s District 4

Connie Baldin of Pine Mountain Club was confused by news reports last week. Three members of the Kern County Board of Supervisors were in secret sessions to redraw the county’s supervisorial districts.

These secret negotiations changed the boundaries of David Couch’s District 4 to include Lamont, Arvin, McFarland, Delano, Wasco, Shafter, Lost Hills and Buttonwillow, plopping the Frazier Mountain Communities into Zack Scrivner’s district.

Why did they do that?
