New Superintendent Hired by El Tejon Unified School District
LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at 8 p.m.)—The Board of Trustees of the El Tejon Unified School District at their regular board meeting this evening announced that the contract for a new superintendent for the district was ratified this evening.
Rodney Wallace, originally from Wasco, has been working in San Luis Obispo County. He is expected to begin his new job in the Frazier Mountain Communities January 1, 2014.
A 4-0 vote was taken on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at a special meeting of the board to review applicants. Board member Lark Shillig was not able to attend.
The board also elected officers for 2014. VicKie Mullen was elected president. Clerk of the board is now John Fleming. Trustee Representative is Scott Robinson. Lark Shillig is the alternate. Meetings will be held the second Thursday of each month, with the public session beginning at 7 p.m. The board is going back to one meeting per month rather than two.
