New Year’s Poetry Break: Living in a Little Town—Happy New Year

Donna Turner from Frazier Park sent this New Year’s ditty for her neighbors.

Little Town
I like to live in a little town
near mountains with trees replete,
where you nod or say a sincere "Hello!" to everyone you meet.

I like, while busy shopping, at our local grocery store
to hear the friendly gossip of folks who live next door.
For life is interwoven
with the friends we learn to know
and we hear their joys and sorrows.
As we daily come and go

So I like to live in a little town.
I care no more to roam.
For every house in a little town
is more than a house,
it is home.
