Three pedestrians were injured after a truck “rolled through” a stop sign outside of Fiesta Days on Saturday, August 2. Holly Erickson was at Don’s liquor when the accident occurred and said she “heard the screams. Blood curdling screams… The fire truck and paramedics were behind me when I pulled out [of Don’s].”
According to witnesses, local resident 76-year-old Jeffrey Pond Smith drove through the stop sign at 9:40 p.m. performing what one witness described to California Highway Patrol (CHP) as a “California stop.” He struck two pedestrians with his truck: Lilia Campos Perez (41), Fidel Norverto Cruzacevedo (43).
