June 1 at Frazier Park Library 1-4 p.m.
The future of Los Padres roads is the subject to be explored Friday, June 1, 1-4 p.m. at Frazier Park Library when off-road enthusiasts and others are asked to give their ideas about closing more of the forest to off-road recreation. The drop-in public meeting is part of the process to update the Los Padres Forest Management Plan.
“Wilderness advocates and species- minded conservationists want to lop [sic] on more protections while off-roaders and others seeking easier access want more ways to drive in deeper,” forest personnel said in their announcement.
Forest personnel will explain the 15-year forest management plan process completed in 2006 before lawsuits forced the ongoing re-do and meetings. —PH
