Many Kern County residents applauded President Donald Trump at his February 19 stop at Bakersfield’s Meadows Field [“Bako applauds Trump’s new water rule, state vows to sue,” The Mountain Enterprise, February 21, 2020]. The president signed an executive memo to roll back protections for endangered species to hasten diversion of Northern California water to San Joaquin Valley agribusiness and Southern California cities.
