Over 600 trash fee protest letters have been confirmed

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at 5:32 p.m.)—Kern County Public Works Department has confirmed for The Mountain Enterprise that 608 letters protesting the proposed mandatory trash pickup fee have been confirmed as valid protests. The minimum number of protests required to stop the fee from being approved by county supervisors is 842. Kern County Public Works Department Assistant Director said the effort to successfully stop the fee, “is at 72% complete right now.” The public hearing, and the vote on this matter by Kern County Supervisors, is scheduled to occur Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at 1115 Truxtun Ave., First Floor. You can submit your protest to the Clerk Of The Board at the meeting as long as you submit it before the hearing starts.
