Dirty paws, wet noses and big smiles were seen at the first- ever Fido Hunt and Kitty Raffle hosted by the Mountain Communities SPCA. The team of volunteers at the Frazier Mountain Park baseball field raised more than $200 for the SPCA Sunday afternoon, March 24. Several animals were adopted out to forever homes. Over 50 people attended with 40 dogs that hunted, played and ate doggie treats.

The Kitty Raffle was a huge success with over 14 different prizes donated from the community. Raffle items included doggie baskets from Lola 4 Pets and gifts from Norene Martin and Becky Trask.

"It was a blast! I am happy that I was able to go see the animals (considering that I have none of my own),” said Brenna Young. “I can’t wait for the next [one].”

A big thank you to Ace Hardware of Frazier Park for donating water to help hydrate the dogs and their owners and to the Red Hat Society of Frazier Park for baking goodies and volunteering.

Many members of the community volunteered. Local pet lovers made it a success. Watch for monthly programs of fun events from the SPCA
