FRAZIER PARK, California (Tuesday, 4:45 p.m.)—Peter Jacob Neptune, 23 was killed in a motorcycle collision with a car at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 in the city of Valencia. He was a 2003 graduate of Frazier Mountain High School. His mother Elizabeth Neptune, of the Neenach area, confirmed that her son was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where the family was informed of his passing.
According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s report the fatal traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Wiley Canyon Road and Tournament Road. The driver of a 2004 Honda Civic, Dejah Morris, 25 of Newhall was traveling eastbound on Wiley Canyon Road and making a left turn onto northbound Tournament Road. Neptune, of Lancaster, was riding a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle and was traveling westbound on Wiley Canyon Road.
As Neptune entered the intersection, he struck the side of the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to flip onto its drivers side. Neptune was treated at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and then transported to Mayo Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Dejah Morris was also transported to the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Traffic Office is continuing their investigation.
