Photographer Mel Weinstein loves his work and loves the life he built as a pro photographer. “There is always something to do if you have a camera,” he says with a smile. Weinstein built a successful career out of his hobby.
His work has been widely published in magazines and corporate brochures. Now Mel and his wife Kathy are sponsoring the photo contest for mountain youth, 6-18, with an award fund of $300.
Free Classes
On November 9 and 16, a free class for youths 6-18 will be offered through the Frazier Park Library, at 11 a.m. both days. Bring your own digital camera. If you don’t have one, the library has some cameras to loan for the event. The class will include a trip to the park to explore photo principles and photo opportunities. Walk-ins are welcome, but preregister (245-1267) to reserve a spot.
