There’s a reason why foster care kids are so misunderstood and why darkness surrounds their existence.

It takes permission from a judge to be able to film foster children and film producers have not obtained those clearances—until now.

The new documentary film Possible Selves, produced and directed by local filmmaker Shaun Kadlec, will air on PBS this weekend, breaking the mold of films that have focused only on the foster system rather than the lives of those who live within then age out of that system.
