It appeared to our reporter that the auto repair and tire shop near McDonalds suffered fire damage and vehicles stored in their yard were destroyed. A CHP officer, early in the incident phase, suggested a pickup truck towing a trailer may have had tow chains sparking on the asphalt that may have ignited the fire, but this is not information confirmed by the fire department. According to Cal Fire, the only evacuation ordered, as of 5:01 p.m., was Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area west of McDonalds.
