UPDATE: Planned power outage angers some who were not notified

PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB, CA (Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 at 8:15 a.m.)—Many PMC residents are reporting that they were not notified about their power going off this morning. Southern California Edison representative Reggie Kumar told The Mountain Enterprise on Monday morning that all power customers affected would be notified. The power is now off throughout much of Pine Mountain Club and is scheduled, according to Edison, to come back on at 6 p.m.

PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB, CA (Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at 10 a.m.)— Southern California Edison confirmed there will be a power outage on Wednesday, Jan. 13.The outage will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to Southern California Edison, the majority of the 974 customers affected are within the Pine Mountain Club boundaries with some customers also affected within Cuddy Valley Estates.

Other reports of the outage being “mountain-wide” are incorrect.

The Pine Mountain Club POA clubhouse will be open. The facility will be available for those who need heat and electricity for medical devices, according to a bulletin from PMCPOA, which reminds members that masks are required and social distancing must be observed at all times.
