Frazier Park, Lebec, Cuddy Valley, Pine Mountain Club—(Tuesday, May 10, 2022)— Our June 1 deadline for clearing lots of fire hazards right here at home is fast approaching. Meanwhile, wildfires and ceaseless winds continue to create a historic firefighting marathon in New Mexico—showing us what we all want to avoid by becoming a Fire Safe Community.
Kern Fire Safe Council is offering Webinars by zoom this month to help. Mountain Community residents of all ages are urged to get a plan and to get prepared. Here’s help: Three webinars directed to schools are also available to the public. They will give you great ideas for what you can do right now. On May 11 at 1 p.m.; May 17 at 3 p.m.; and May 24 at 4:30 p.m. you can attend by zoom and “one tap mobile” webinar.
See the poster above (double click to enlarge), and go to www.kernfiresafe.org and use the green banner at the top of the page to RSVP. You will also be able to explore great information for your family on that site that is always available 24/7. Have a family council, or a get-together with neighbors to review that helpful information. We stay safe together.
