Preventing Paradise — How do we protect our communities from such a devastating wildfire?

The horrific tragedy suffered in Butte County with the Camp fire is designated by a single, ironic shorthand: Paradise.

All of the U.S. and much of the world is united in sorrow and sympathy for the wildfire losses Northern (and Southern) California is bearing. But for residents here in the Mountain Communities, our sympathy is freighted with concern over the similarities our neighborhoods share with Paradise. People are fearful, and they want to know that measures are being taken to protect them.

But what if measures that seem protective aren’t actually supported by research? What if the soundest measures…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
