UPDATE—FRAZIER PARK, CA (Saturday, July 10, 2014 at 7:42 p.m.)—The Movies in the Park event is canceled for tonight and will be rescheduled for a date in August, according to Supervisor David Couch who spoke with The Mountain Enterprise at the park at 7:30 p.m. Couch drove up to the mountain to meet the movie display company crew and check conditions. Wet grass and the possibility of more rain this evening helped the supervisor make the decision he said.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Saturday, July 10, 2014 at 6:40 p.m.)—The good news is that it is raining in Frazier Park. Everyone started to cheer when the drops pounded a steady drumbeat on the heads of those celebrating at the Ridge Route Communities Museum Annual Picnic.

Over in Frazier Mountain Park, Jessica Zuniga and family were making a barbecue picnic before the Movies in the Park event, then pulled out the umbrellas. Supervisor David Couch told The Mountain Enterprise that he and the movie company will be deciding shortly if it is best to reschedule the showing of Back to the Future.  Check back here at 7:40 p.m. for the final decision. We’ll post the news as soon as the decision is made.

This is part of the July 18, 2014 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
