Right: On the morning of 9/11 2001, John Fuess grabbed an American flag, jumped on his horse Red and rode through Cuddy Valley, colors flying. On September 11, 2021, Fuess joined the locals who have been keeping alive the tradition he started. While it’s not safe for him to be on a horse now, he drove his ATV along with the other patriots.

After the historic ride by John Fuess through Cuddy Valley on September 11, 2001, Daisy Cuddy snapped this photo of him and his horse, Red.
