FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at 7:26 p.m.)—Ice and snow have closed Hudson Ranch Road from Mil Potrero Highway west of Pine Mountain Club to Highway 166. The closure was announced at 7 p.m. A high wind advisory has been issued for the Grapevine. Campers and vehicles with heavy loads are discouraged from using that route, Caltrans’ Road Condition Hotline reported at 8 p.m.
In Mountain Community neighborhoods, snow has been intermittent throughout the day, which began with persistent pre-dawn rainfall before 4 a.m., with about an inch and a half of rain precipitation at 6,000′ in Pine Mountain Club. At about 10 a.m. snowfall began. Accumulation is less than 12″ in PMC’s higher elevations.
FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 at 8:54 a.m.)—Kern County closed the road that leads to the top of Mount Pinos this morning. The closure is west of the Mil Potrero Y, at the the first snow gate, due to heavy snow accumulation. Note: This is not Mt. Pinos Way that is the main thoroughfare in Frazier Park.
