Snow chains required to access snow play areas

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Friday, January 1, 2021 at 9:24 a.m.)—All motorists will be required to carry snow chains in order to drive on Mountain Community roads this weekend.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at 8:40 a.m.)—CHP is allowing residents only to pass westbound through the checkpoint at Flying J in Lebec.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at 12:40 p.m.)—CHP has resumed its chain control checkpoint at Flying J. Only residents are being allowed to pass the checkpoint.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at 9:25 a.m.)—Mt. Pinos Road (leading to Nordic Base on Mt. Pinos) is open only to the first snow gate. Crews are working to get the entire road open for this weekend. Heavy snowplay traffic is expected this weekend, according CHP Officer Anthes.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at 8:20 a.m.)—All off-ramps are open on Interstate 5. There is one CHP checkpoint on Frazier Mountain Park Road (Cuddy Valley Road) at Lockwood Valley Road (Mountain View Market). Local residents will be allowed to pass and vehicles with four-wheel drive or snow chains will be allowed to pass, according to Officer Richard Anthes at CHP.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at 1:40 p.m.)—Off-ramps from I-5 northbound and southbound Frazier Mountain Park Road have been closed.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at 12:55 p.m.)—Westbound Frazier Mountain Park Road is closed to non-residents at Flying J.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at 8:45 a.m.)—Interstate 5 over the Grapevine is open at this time.

CUDDY VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CA (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at 8:31 a.m.)—CHP is conducting chain control on Mil Potrero Highway at Cuddy Valley Road. Only vehicles with snow chains will be allowed onto Mil Potrero Highway.

CUDDY VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CA (Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at 4 a.m.)—Mt. Pinos Road—the roadway from Cuddy Valley Road, leading to Nordic Base on Mt. Pinos—is closed due to snow and ice conditions.
