Scrivner granted mental health diversion under intense scrutiny

On October 6, 2025, former Kern County District 2 Supervisor Zachary Scrivner requested a mental health diversion for the criminal charges brought against him by the California Attorney General (AG). These charges included three counts of willful infliction of physical and/or mental pain on a child under conditions likely to cause great bodily harm or death (PC § 273a(a)), and two counts of possession of an assault rifle (PC § 30605)…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
