INCIDENT COMPLETED: Slow lane of southbound I-5 north of Fort Tejon remains closed for brush fire

FORT TEJON in LEBEC, CA, Saturday, June 10, 2022 at 7:31 a.m. — A brush fire west of I-5 that started at 4:19 p.m., Friday, continues to cause a partial closure of southbound Interstate 5 this morning. The fire had prompted fire officials to close all southbound lanes yesterday. As of 7:25 this morning, Kern County Fire Department states that the #4 lane (slow lane) will likely remain closed through Monday. KCFD advised on Friday that an evacuation warning needed to be issued for Digier Canyon. It was not a mandatory evacuation, only a warning alerting residents to the fact that a fire was burning below near the freeway. No structures were reported damaged and firefighters have gained control over the fire.
