Smoke across the mountain is from Northern California fires

  • At 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, smoke drifting in from the fires of Northern California to Pine Mountain Club makes Apache Saddle look as if it is dusk. Sunset is not expected until after 7:30 p.m. Air quality is poor for sensitive people.

    At 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, smoke drifting in from the fires of Northern California to Pine Mountain Club makes Apache Saddle look as if it is dusk. Sunset is not expected until after 7:30 p.m. Air quality is poor for sensitive people.

Pine Mountain Club, CA (Saturday, Aug. 7 at 3:57 p.m.)— A solid bank of smoke is rolling in along the San Emigdio Mountains from the northwest. Firefighters at Pine Mountain Club Station #58 said “that is from Northern California, all over Northern California, there is nothing happening around here.”

Drift smoke has also reached down to Frazier Park and Lebec.
