Frazier Mountain Internet Service will, for the 14th consecutive year, sponsor the “Shelly Mason Scholarship for Academic Excellence”.
These scholarships will be awarded to the ten students graduating with the highest GPA, and are intended to encourage and reward high academic performance.
The scholarships will be presented at the Senior Banquet awards ceremony at Frazier Mountain High School, scheduled for Tuesday, June 4. Recipients will be determined based upon the following criteria:
1) Eligible students must have demonstrated academic commitment by successfully completing all courses listed as “a-g requirements” (these are the courses typically required by the University of California for admission – the students do NOT need to be attending a UC campus to be eligible for the scholarship).
2) Eligible students must be enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year college or university when the scholarship benefits are distributed (Fall 2022 quarter/semester).
3) Eligible students must be among the 10 students with the highest Grade Point Average as measured from the beginning of 9th grade through the end of the first semester in 12th grade.
4) Eligible students do not need to complete an application for the scholarship – eligibility will be determined by certification from Frazier Mountain High School administrators.
The scholarship amounts are:
Students with the first and second highest GPA – $1,000 each;
Students with the third and forth highest GPA – $500 each;
Students with the fifth…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
