UPDATE–FRAZIER PARK (MONDAY, Jan. 25, 2010, 2:30 p.m.)—This is from the Kern County Sheriff’s Press Release just issued:

On the evening of January 21, 2010 a Frazier Park Substation deputy was contacted by a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department detective who was investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Santa Clarita a few days after the Frazier Park Market robbery. The suspect in the Santa Clarita robbery matched the general description, wore a similar disguise and brandished a similar handgun as the suspect in the Frazier Park robbery.

On January 22, 2010 a Frazier Park Substation deputy contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department detective in Santa Clarita and was given a CD-Rom containing images of the Santa Clarita robbery suspect after the suspect removed his disguise.

Later that day a deputy contacted three Frazier Park residents who identified the Santa Clarita robbery suspect as James William Brammer of Los Angeles. All three residents said they previously viewed the Frazier Park Market video footage on The Mountain Enterprise web site, and also identified Brammer as the person who committed that robbery. The deputy obtained an arrest warrant calling for Brammer’s arrest for the Frazier Park Market robbery.

On January 23, 2010 a deputy located Brammer in the Los Angeles area and passed that information on to the Los Angeles Police Department, who arrested him a short time later.

Brammer is being held at a Los Angeles County jail on a no bail California Department of Corrections parole hold. He served 18 years in state prison for armed robbery, before being paroled in April of 2009. He is being charged with committing 11 armed robberies in Los Angeles and one armed robbery in Santa Clarita, as well as the armed robbery in Frazier Park.

FRAZIER PARK (MONDAY, Jan. 25, 2010, 11 a.m.)—A suspect is under arrest in Los Angeles for the robbery of Frazier Park Market on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Assistance from Mountain Community citizens made the apprehension possible. People from this area recognized the suspect from the surveillance video which was carried on this website. The suspect was also caught on camera after robbing a pizza parlor in Santa Clarita, authorities said today, indicating that the man used a similar beard and mustache disguise. He was photographed removing the disguise. More than 11 similar robberies have been reported in the Los Angeles area without apprehension. It is likely that outrage about the robbery in Frazier Park is a major factor in putting an end to the robber’s crime spree.

More details will be posted here shortly. See the full story in the next issue of The Mountain Enterprise newspaper.
