Pine Mountain Club residents mobilized to bring an end to the string of over 30 burglaries in the community. This meeting occurred on June 15 in collaboration with the Kern County Sheriiff’s Office Crime Prevention Unit. It was followed by another group meeting a week later, on June 22, at which residents expressed impatience with law enforcement and anxiety about the continuing crime wave. They also took control of adding security measures to their homes and neighborhoods. [Patric Hedlund photo— Double click on image to see full size]
