Tejon’s Centennial plan gets boost

The first step in an omnibus package of Los Angeles County zoning and ordinance changes is likely to transform the front door to the Mountain Communities. The Antelope Valley Area Plan Update draft was passed at a standing room only hearing before the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission on Saturday, Sept. 27. Six hundred people attended the event in Lancaster; about 50 spoke.

At warp-speed after the testimony, commissioners voted 4-0 to approve the plan, with only a few changes—including a favor for the Tejon Ranch Company’s proposed…(please click the link below to view the full story in our e-Edition)

The hearing crowd filled the theater at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, then spilled out into the lobby, watching on TV monitors. Many who testified were from the Western Antelope Valley, concerned about solar power utilities.
