Lebec, CA (April 8, 2011 at 3 p.m.)—The Grapevine is open and there are no California Highway Patrol alerts at this tims. There is a light snow that resembles very small hailstones, but it is melting on contact with asphalt. The surface roads through Frazier Park, Lebec and Pine Mountain are clear. Please watch for ice and wet pavement however, and drive slowly and cautiously.
