• The 21st Century Mystery School presents beginning Tai Chi at Frazier Mountain Community Park. Classes will be held each Friday from 9:30–10:30 a.m. now through August 28. Cost is $5. Call instructor Jessie Finneman at 661.448.5036.
• A special Hip Hop Workshop is offered by In The Wings Studio of Dance with Megan Stokes for ages 12 and up, 4–5:30 p.m., $8, at the studio (3524 Mt. Pinos Way in Frazier Park).
* Get your Hawaiian on at the PMC Family Luau, 5–9 p.m. in the Pool Pavillion. The pool will be open until 9 p.m. during the luau.
• ‘Flash of Color’ is Artworks Community Gallery’s new show. Don’t miss the opening reception at 7 p.m.(16233 Pine Valley Lane, #203, Pine Mountain Village/ 661.858.3130). The exhibit runs July 17-August 10.
Saturday, July 18
• It’s another Toxic Roundup at the Lebec Transfer Station (300 Landfill Road), 9 a.m.–noon. Bring your tired, dirty old hazardous waste to this one day event. See ad on page 12 for what to bring and how to bring it in safely.
• A Farmers Market will be open 10 a.m.–noon, at Green Dragon Farms (3433 Los Padres Dr., Frazier Park). The market will be open every Saturday through the growing season. A variety of fresh vegetables, and herbs as well as eggs will be available. Fresh food vouchers are available at the Family Resource Center and can be redeemed on market days.
• Ready for an old-fashioned good time? The Ridge Route Community Museum’s Annual Picnic at 5 p.m. fills the bill (3515 Park Dr., Frazier Park). Enjoy music, door prizes and gold panning for the kids. Hot dogs, burgers and cold drinks will be available free to members; $2 for non-members 13 and over; $1 for ages 5-12. Bring side dishes, salads and desserts to share.
• Joey Dillon will bring his Gunslinging performance to the Falcon’s Nest (3216 Mt.Pinos Way, Frazier Park), 6:30–7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. The restaurant will close at 6 p.m., so be sure and get there early to grab your favorite menu item before the show.
• Join the Black Out Night Hike at Wind Wolves Preserve, 8–10 p.m. This is a moonlight adventure for ages 6 +(no strollers). Bring a flashlight. Go north on I-5 for 19.4 miles, exit west on SR 166 for 14.6 miles to 16019 Maricopa Highway, about a 40-minute drive.

• Wind Wolves Preserve will host a Birding Backcountry Adventure, 9 a.m.–noon. Visitors will be allowed into rarely seen “Authorized Access Only” areas while traveling in the tour vehicle and learning about the birds that use the preserve as home (go north on I-5 for 19.4 miles, exit west on SR 166 for 14.6 miles to 16019 Maricopa Highway, about a 40-minute drive).
Tuesday, July 21
• The fun continues on Sports Night at Lampkin Field, 5–7 p.m., Pine Mountain Village. Bring your friends. Enjoy a variety of team sports.

• There is still time to enter the Fiesta Days Queen Contest. The deadline to apply is now July 25. Judging will be July 31, with crowning at 7 p.m. at the VFW hall. Get your application at Mountain Top Video (3620 Mt. Pinos Way, Frazier Park/661.245.0315).
• The Famous Museum Night Walk with the Ridge Route Communities Museum historian is Tuesday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m. Stroll through time and history as you walk through downtown Frazier Park. A handout with old photographs is available for a donation. Meet at the museum (3515 Park Dr., FP).
• Calling all Teens: The Boys and Girls Club is planning a fun trip to the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday, July 31, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Cost is $10; membership forms and permission slips must be filled out prior to the event. For more information call Stephanie Bishop at 245.3139.
