Saturday, Oct. 17

• It’s time for Saturday School at Frazier Park School, El Tejon Middle School and Frazier Mountain High School, 8 a.m. to noon. Buses will run. This fun and educational event also helps the schools’ budgets.

• Toxic Roundup at the Lebec Transfer Station is 9 a.m. to noon (300 Landfill Road, Lebec). Check 800.522.KERN or www.Kern CountyWaste.com for items accepted.

• Medicare Plan counseling is free from 9 a.m. to noon at the Healthy Harvest Senior Resource Fair at Kern County Aging and Adult Services Office (5357 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield; 661.868.1000). Seniors and disabled adults get free flu shots, glucose screening and blood pressure checks plus a Scam Alert Workshop from 10–11 a.m.

• Spook-tacular fun is back by popular demand! Come to The Death of Peter Lebeck and Candlelight Ghost Tour at Fort Tejon, 4:30–9:30 p.m. This fun and educational event is a benefit for the Fort Tejon Historical Association’s annual program of events, Adults $10/children $5. Pumpkin carving, hot cider and dinner are available.

Wednesday, Oct. 21

• A Flu Shot Clinic is first come, first served 10 a.m.–noon, at the PMC clubhouse, all are welcome. Shots are $9, cash only.

• The Frazier Mountain CERT has begun weekly Wednesday meetings, 6–7 p.m., at Falcon’s Nest (3216 Mt. Pinos Way, F.P.).

• What’s happening with Tejon Ranch’s Centennial Planned Community development? The public is urged to attend the scoping meeting at 6:30 p.m., Gorman Elementary School (49847 Gorman School Rd., Gorman).

Thursday, Oct. 22

• A flood damage risk areas meeting with Supervisor David Couch and a county engineer will take place beginning at noon along Cuddy Creek in Lake of the Woods starting at Antioch Nursery (317 Lakewood Dr., Lake of the Woods). Others are invited to join in the walk.

• Come hear the facts from the consultants and voice your concerns at a 6 p.m. meeting to discuss the pros and cons of the annexation of Lake of the Woods into the Frazier Park Public Utility District (FPPUD), at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center, 3801 Park Dr., F.P. • It’s Homecoming at Frazier Mountain High School! Come cheer on the Falcons when they take on Excelsior Charter School. Don’t miss the fabulous Disney-themed halftime show and floats. JV kicks off at 4 p.m., Varsity at 7 p.m.

• It’s Toys for Tots and Gifts for Teens season again! The Family Resource Center (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, F.P.) is accepting donations until December 14. The FRC is also accepting unexpired food donations for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to help those in need through December 14.

• The Third Annual Mountain Youth Photo Contest is underway! Age categories are 6–10, 11–14 and 15–18 years. Deadline for submissions is November 28.

• Friends of California Condors Wild and Free offers a second free tour this month. Visit the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Space is limited, to reserve your spot email Steve Larios at tours@friendsofcondors.org.
