Friday, Dec. 4

• The Frazier Park Library will be closed today, but opens again tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 5 at the regular time.

• Bring the whole family to a holiday-themed Movies in the Canyon night at Wind Wolves Preserve, 4:45–7 p.m. (Go north on I-5 for 19.4 miles, exit west on SR 166 for 14.6 miles to 16019 Maricopa Highway, about a 40-minute drive). Bring a picnic dinner, chairs and blankets. Hot cocoa, s’mores and snacks will be provided. Donations encouraged. Reservations required, call 661.858.1115 or email windwolvespreserve@twc-ca.org.

Saturday, Dec. 5

• The Mountain Communities Holiday Faire and Festival of Lights Parade in Frazier Park is finally here! From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., do your gift shopping and get photos of the kids with Santa. Join in with the carolers, watch community performances, decorate cookies, visit the kids’ activity corner and bounce house. Tree lighting ceremony is at 5:15. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m.

• A Back Country Adventure is planned at Wind Wolves Preserve today, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Bring water, lunch and sturdy shoes on this “Authorized Access Only” tour of the preserve. See December 4 listing for reservations and directions.

• Help support AARP by shopping at the Name Your Own Price Thrift Store (628 Alhambra Trail, FP) from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Drop off donations day of event at 10 a.m.

• Fort Tejon’s Frontier Army Days takes you back to the wild frontier in the 1850s, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. (off Interstate 5 in Lebec). Admission is: adults $5; 7–17 $2; under 6 free.

• The Written Word Series hosts a night with mystery writer Mar Preston, 7 p.m. at Artworks Gallery in Pine Mountain Village (16233 Pine Valley Lane, PMV). Refreshments will be served.

Sunday, Dec. 6

• Explore varied habitats in a Birding Hike at Wind Wolves Preserve, 8–11 a.m. All ages and experience levels welcome. See December 4 listing for reservations and directions.

Monday, Dec. 7

• The FMHS Sports Awards Banquet will be held at the high school, 6 p.m., for the volleyball, football and cross country teams.

Wednesday, Dec. 9

• Frazier Park Elementary School will hold their third annual Reindeer Run today. Family and friends are asked to donate a flat rate or per lap amount. Each grade level will walk and run for a half hour. Call the school for details, 661.245.3312.

• Everyone is invited to the 4th Annual Christmas in the Village, Saturday, Dec. 12. Santa’s parade starts at noon in Pine Mountain Village, then Santa will be in the gazebo until 2 p.m. Live entertainment, hot chili, goodies, face painting and lots of fun.

• Drop off donations for Toys for Tots/Gifts for Teens by Monday, Dec. 14. Drop off locations are available around the mountain.

• The In the Wings Studio of Dance Christmas Show on December 19 is ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside.’ Don’t miss this holiday gala. Save the date.
