Friday, Feb. 26
•Do you love nature and photography? Reserve your seat on a Photo Safari to Tejon Ranch Conservancy for students ages 10–18, Saturday, March 5, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. with two professional photographer mentors. Naturalist Scot Pipkin is the guide. Reserve your seat by contacting Scot Pipkin (spipkin@tejonconservancy.org or 661.248.2400 ext. 5). There is no charge.
• It’s parents vs. students for an 8th grade basketball fundraiser game, 5–7:30 p.m. in the Frazier Mountain High School gym. Help support the 8th grade class and have fun at the same time. Event entry fee is $1. Slice of pizza or nachos with a drink are available for $3 each.
• Frazier Mountain Little League will hold registrations for the Spring 2016 season, 6–8 p.m. at Caveman Cavey’s for ages 4–15.
Saturday, Feb. 27
• ETUSD Saturday School is back, 8 a.m.–noon. Buses will run. Frazier Park Elementary School, El Tejon Middle School and FMHS students will all go to the high school.
• A Yard Sale fundraiser for the El Tejon 8th grade class is 8 a.m.–2 p.m. at 1121 Snowline Dr., Piñon Pines. Donated items may be dropped off on February 24–26 at the same address. This sale will raise money for the 8th grade field trip and graduation.
• The famous Pine Needle Basket Weaving class is offered at the Ridge Route Communities Museum, 3515 Park Drive in Frazier Park, 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10 and supplies are provided. Register at 661.245.7747. Proceeds help support the museum.
• Learn Outdoor Survival at Wind Wolves Preserve, 10 a.m.–noon. For ages 7 and up (no strollers, please). For reservations call 661.858.1115 or email windwolvespreserve@twc-ca.org.

• In the Wings Studio of Dance holds its Annual Rummage Sale for the performance and competition teams March 5, 6, 12, 13, 8 a.m.–2 p.m. each day at the dance studio, 3524 Mount Pinos Way, Frazier Park. The studio accepts donations for their rummage sale any time.
• The American Red Cross is offering to install free smoke alarms in our area. Call 661.324.6427 ext. 6520 to set up an appointment.
• The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) will be at the Family Resource Center (FRC) on the first and third Thursdays from 9 a.m to noon. Call the Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK) at 211 or the FRC at 661.245.4303, to see if you qualify.
• The Third Annual Mountain Youth Photo Contest is still open for submissions. If you have not submitted a photo yet, what are you waiting for? Entries will be accepted now until March 19 in three age categories: 6–10, 11–14 and 15–18. Cash prizes are awarded for first, second and third place in each category. The Awards Party and Reception is Saturday, April 16, 5 p.m., at the Frazier Park Library.
