Saturday, July 23

• ‘Frazier Proud’ is a community clean-up from 8 a.m. to noon today, sponsored by the Ridge Route Communities Museum, Friends of Frazier Mountain Park and the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce. Meet in the parking lot at Frazier Mountain Park. Participants are invited to the Ridge Route Museum’s annual picnic at 5 p.m. for free hamburgers and hot dogs. Come join the team!

• The Ridge Route Communities Museum’s Annual Picnic is 5 p.m. Members and the Frazier Proud team are free. Nonmembers, 13+ are $2; ages 5–12 are $1. BBQ and cold drinks are provided. Bring a side dish to share and a comfy lawn chair. Enjoy music and door prizes too.

Tuesday, July 26

• Basketball clinics for 2nd through 9th grades are at El Tejon School on Tuesday and Thursday July 26-29 (1:30-2:30 p.m.) and at Frazier Mountain High School Aug. 2–11. Just show up; $5 per session to benefit FMHS basketball team.

• Looking for something to do in the cool of the evening? Sports Night at Lampkin Park is every Tuesday, 5–7 p.m., just west of Pine Mountain Village. All ages are welcome. Sports equipment is provided.

Ongoing and Upcoming

• Ventura County residents: What should future development of unincorporated Lockwood Valley look like? Your ideas are requested at a General Plan workshop being held Saturday, July 30 from 1:30–3:30 p.m. at the Mt. Pinos District Ranger Chuchupate office [34580 Lockwood Valley Road]. You can also participate by completing an online survey at www.vc2040.org.

• The Boys and Girls Club Summer Day Camp is weekdays through August 12 at Frazier Park School. Lunch is provided to July 30. Sign up for one day or for all nine weeks. A new fun theme is introduced each week. For a full schedule and to enroll, call 661.245.3139.

• Need some summer reading material? Friends of the Frazier Park Library begin their used book sale for members only on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 11 a.m.–6 p.m., at the library. Not a member? The sale is open to all Aug. 4 (11 a.m.–6 p.m.), Family Day is Aug. 5 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) and Half-price Day is Aug. 6 (9 a.m.–4 p.m.).

• The 49th Annual Fiesta Days starts Friday, Aug. 5, 1–10 p.m. with a parade on Saturday. The fun runs through Sunday, Aug. 7. This years theme is ‘Back to Our Mountain Roots.’ Get carnival ride tickets at Ace Hardware, Mountain Top Video and Sue’s Tavern (20 tickets for $15).
