• All branches of the Kern County Library system, including the Frazier Park branch, will be closed today for staff training and development. Regular hours will resume tomorrow.
• Santa’s Secret Shop will be open for students at Gorman School today through Thursday, Dec. 15. The shop will be open during the holiday program on December 15 for those last minute gifts.
• A Holiday “Craft Flair” featuring local arts and crafts gifts is Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 31 at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane in Pine Mountain Village), Friday–Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

• Does an evening of Condors Ice Hockey and dance sound fun? In the Wings Studio of Dance Performance and Competition Team performs on the ice at the Condors game, 7–9 p.m. at Rabobank Arena (1001 Truxtun, Bakersfield).
