• Vendor applications for the 36th Annual Pine Mountain Club Lilac Festival (May 19–20) are due today. (Parade applications are due in one week, by May 11.) The Lilac Fest is a tradition of fun to celebrate the coming of spring to Pine Mountain Village. See www.pmclilacfestival.com.

• Open the world of art to your little one at Arts for Preschoolers, at 11 a.m. at the Frazier Park Library. Today’s activity is ‘Landscapes’ with tissue paper. This is a month-long special series presented by Frazier Park FOCUS Central, California Arts Council and Friends of the Library.

* ‘Kurdistan: The Other Iraq’ kicks off the PMC Film Forum from 3–5 p.m. in the clubhouse Condor Room. Filmmakers Bruce Spargo and Jessie Hales will hold a Q&A session following the documentary. Film Forum will be the first Sunday of each month, and it’s free of charge.

• Vrroom­­! Deadline to register early for the Ridge Route Run Car Show is Friday, May 11 for the $25 rate; after that it is $40. Registration forms are available at www.ridgerouterun.com. Vendor applications are also due by May 11. The event is May 26 in downtown Frazier Park, with a Memorial Day parade and a massive motorcycle brigade to honor our veterans and those who served and died.

• If you have facts to share about Tejon Ranch’s Centennial Project, you’ve been given some extra time to prepare them: the deadline to submit public comments for consideration at the L.A. County Planning Commission land-use hearing is extended to Wednesday, May 23. Tejon proposes 19,333 homes and an estimated 10.2 million square feet of commercial / industrial development in 19 square miles from I-5 along SR-138, spanning Gorman to Neenach, which is currently open grasslands.
