• Kids 7-12, the Junior Rangers Club wants you! This exciting program is 10–11 a.m. at the Frazier Park library and free (each Friday through the summer). Hungry Valley Rangers focus on outdoor safety, wildlife, responsible recreation and environmental awareness.

• ‘Singing and Songwriting’ is today’s Arts for Children program at the library: 1:30–2:30 p.m. for 5-8 year olds and 2:30–3:30 p.m. for 9-12 year olds, with teacher Allie Jo Thomas. Enjoy a new theme in art, music or dance each Tuesday and Friday through July (3732 Park Dr., FP).

* Keep the 4th of July spirit going with music in PMC at Acoustic Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Condor Lounge. This evening features The Nightwatchers. It’s free, but tips for the band are encouraged and much appreciated.

• L.A. County Regional Planning resumes its Centennial specific plan hearing at 9 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles at the Hall of Records (320 Temple St., Los Angeles 90012). You can participate by making public comment there, or at the satellite video conference site being provided at the Lancaster Library (601 W. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster). The 20-year plan projects 19,333 homes (60-70,000 more neighbors) and 10.2 million square feet of commercial / industrial space between Gorman and Neenach.

• Enjoy horsemanship (and horsewomanship) on display at ‘Early Californios Skills of the Rancho,’ a family affair with friendly competition, a fiesta attitude, vendors and food. • Summer Stage by Mountain Theater Alliance (MTA) opens with the touching, funny play ‘The Drawer Boy’ Friday, July 13 at

• Fiesta Days is around the corner! Deadline is Saturday, July 14 for Fiesta Days Queen entries and vendor applications. Get forms and information at www.frazierfiestadays.org. The Fiesta Days Queen application is under “Events” and must be dropped off at Mountain Top Video. The crowning takes place Friday, July 20 at the VFW Hall, and the 51st Annual Fiesta Days celebration is August 3–5, 2018.

• Corvette Club of Bakersfield visits the Ridge Route Communities Museum (3515 Park Dr., FP) Sunday, July 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come see the cool collection. If you have a Corvette, bring it on down! Park at the post office, as will many of the ‘vettes.
