• An Evening of One Acts, presented by Leeway Studios, is 7 p.m. at Basecamp Cafe (16311 Askin Dr., Pine Mountain Village). Featured are one-act plays by local writers, performed by local actors. • ‘Walk with Whitney’: Join Kern Co. District 2 Supervisor candidate Whitney Weddell 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. as she gets to know Frazier Park. All are invited to meet at Frazier Mt. Park (3801 Park Dr.) and then walk the neighborhood with Weddell as she meets residents and discusses issues.

• Dump your icky stuff at Toxic Roundup Household Hazardous Waste drop-off, 9 a.m–noon, Lebec Transfer Station (300 Landfill Road).

• A Poker Run fundraiser for Moose Lodge #2364 and a local charity is 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Register at 9 a.m. ($25, $10 for each added rider), leave at 11 a.m. Motorcycles, cars and trucks may enter. A barbecue dinner and ‘Elvis’ entertainment is included. (6941 Lockwood Valley Rd., 661.245.1630).

• Autumn Equinox Art Experience is 1–11 p.m. at Camp St. Nicholas (11770 Frontier Road, FP—turn in from the Mil Potrero ‘Y’ parking lot). Celebrate art, music, poetry, food, theater, drum circles, speakers, a paint war and a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. The afternoon is family-friendly; evening is more adult. • Artist Karyl Newman gives a talk about her exhibit ‘Selections from the Waste Wunderkammer’ 6 p.m. at the Antelope Valley Conservancy (42105 50th St., Quartz Hill; 661.943.9000). Her art explores the role of trash in our environment and our eco-relationship with the Mojave Desert.

• Senior Sack provides weekly food staples from 10 a.m. to noon at Frazier Mountain Park Community Center. Eligible recipients (with an annual income below $15,000) register once for $2, then may pick up a sack of fresh fruits and veggies, bread, boxed staples and canned food twice a month.
