* PMC Acoustic Friday is a relaxing way to toast TGIF, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Condor Lounge. This evening features the classic rock stylings of Brian and Dave. It is free, but tips for the musician are encouraged and much appreciated.

• Get your weekend off to an invigorating start with a fun, non-competetive fitness run at Frazier Mountain Park, 8 a.m.

• A Wildnerness Guided Hike at Wind Wolves Preserve is 8 a.m.–2 p.m. Naturalists lead a 6-7 mile trek from a trailhead in San Emigdio Canyon, south into the lush wilderness that was once the route of wagons between El Pueblo de Los Angeles and early San Francisco. There is a chance to see many kinds of wildlife and unique geological features. This hike happens just twice a year, and is for ages 8 and up. Bring your own water and lunch. • Spring tryouts for Frazier Mountain Little League continue today, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at Tejon Fields.

• Train your brain: Meditation at Artworks, 10 a.m. at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village), will include 40 minutes of guided meditation and then a discussion and Q&A about the neuroscience of meditation. See item on page 10 of the print edition.

• A Crafts and Collectibles show is 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the library, sponsored by Frazier Park Friends of the Library to support library programs. Mountain artisans will be there to show and sell their wares. Perhaps you’ll find the perfect Valentine’s gift to give your sweetie!

• Do you love our annual Fiesta Days? It is produced by Mountain Memories Association (MMA) and relies on community involvement from people like you. Come meet your neighbors, have fun and help raise funds for good community deeds Sunday, Feb. 10, 5:30 p.m. at Caveman Cavey’s Pizza ((3620 Mt. Pinos Way #107, Frazier Park). Bring your great ideas! These planning meetings will happen the second Sunday of each month. All are welcome.

• The Sixth Annual Mountain Youth Photo Contest invites budding photographers, 6 to 18 years of age, to submit their entries. Cash prizes will be awarded, along with lots of public admiration of your work. The deadline is Saturday, March 2. See form on page 19 for more details.

* Is your Electric Slide out of batteries? Is your tush pushing in the wrong direction? Line Dance Lessons are here! Tuesdays and Thursdays 5–6:30 p.m. starting February 12 for three weeks at the PMC clubhouse, with instructor Grace Wollemann. Fee is $40 (661.242.3788).

* RESCHEDULED: PMCPOA Clubhouse Task Force meetings get going again Saturday, Feb. 23, 10 a.m. in the Condor Room. This first meeting of 2019 begins with an open meeting with the board and will cover several phases of the building plan, including ADA recommendations. There will be time for questions and all PMC residents are invited.

Valentine’s Day is known as Día del Amor y la Amistad in some Latin American countries (Day of Love and Friendship). Besides celebrating your sweetie, show your love and appreciation to someone whose friendship you treasure.
