• The Tejon Ranch and Spectrum Sports 3rd Annual Half Marathon and 10K is today. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m., the 10K start at 8:15 a.m. and a Kids’ Run starts at 9:30 a.m. Register at spectrumsportsevents.com/tejon-ranch-half-marathon. Music from local band Karson City Rebels will be part of the outdoor festivities. • A Poker Run fundraiser for Moose Lodge #2364 is today Register at 8–10 a.m. ($25 any vehicle, $10 for each added rider) at Stockdale Moose Lodge (905 Stine Road, Bakersfield CA). Motorcycles, cars and trucks may enter. A great barbecue dinner is included. Moose Lodge proceeds are shared with a local charity. • A Frazier Park Pond Tribute and Celebration begins at the pond at 11 a.m. with a Chumash performer and speaker, a musical performance, and interfaith water healing ceremony, followed at the library by artwork, history, poetry and more. See ad on page 7 of the print edition.

* PMC will host the first of two ‘Meet the Candidates’ forums for the PMCPOA Board of Directors candidates today from 1–3 p.m. The second one is on Friday, May 10, 7–9 p.m. Both will be held in the PMC Condor Room. Next week’s issue will feature a candidates’ forum.

• The Mountain Youth Photo Contest exhibit and pizza party is 5 p.m. at Artworks Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village). Come support young artists! Photos will be for sale, $20 each, with all proceeds going to the young photographers.

• Gardening Tips for Mountain Growers meets at 6 p.m. at Frazier Park Library. This group is open to people of various skill levels who are interested in learning about the special conditions and gardening challenges that accompany mountain living.

• Enjoy the Ukulele Jam fun fest from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Frazier Park Library. Bring your instrument and open new musical horizons! All ages and all skill levels­, plus folks who like to listen, are welcome. Sheet music is provided. The ukulele jam is first Wednesday of each month.

• Public comment on the proposed Tejon Indian Tribe Trust Acquisition and Casino Project (located near Mettler, at the junction of Interstate 5 and the 99, just north of Outlets at Tejon) is being accepted during the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The EIS will analyze potential environmental consequences of the 306-acre gaming facility project; public comment is an essential element of the process. • The AARP potluck luncheon is Thursday, May 2 st 11:45 a.m. in the Senior Room of the Frazier Park Community Center. Linda Robredo, owner of Blue Rose Pet Salon, will be the guest speaker. She will be offering spring and summer home gardening tips. Bring your favorite dish to share.

• Coffee with a Cop is Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.–noon at the Pine Mountain Club Condor Room. Come enjoy free coffee and conversation with a law enforcement officer, who will address questions and concerns that may be on your mind.

• Los Padres National Forest will hold a job fair Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (5398 E. Camino Cielo Road, Santa Barbara), a free event for anyone interested in seasonal wildland firefighting jobs with the U.S. Forest Service. For more information, call 805.967.3481, x221.

• The next community town hall meeting about the Cuddy Valley and Tecuya Ridge projects planned by Los Padres National Forest is Tuesday, May 14, 5–7 p.m. at the Frazier Park Library (3732 Park Drive), hosted by Mountain Neighbors. An informational presentation by the forest service about the two logging projects is planned, and there will be time for Q&A.

• A guitar concert by Nathan Towne and Tony Harmon is Thursday, May 16, 6 p.m. in the PMC Condor Room. Proceeds will go toward hosting the August ‘GuitarFest!’ at Concert on the Greens, featuring Incendio.
