•If Peanut Butter Bears and Dark Chocolate Penguins are your preferred wildlife, don’t miss the annual Girl Scout Nut & Candy Sale, ongoing until Sunday, Dec. 1. Booths are set up at various grocery stores and retail stores. Or if holiday sweets are weighing you down, stop by a booth and make a donation to Operation Gratitude to send treats to active duty military.

•Ridge Route Museum Raffle winners to be chosen Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Festival of Lights Holiday Faire in FP. Two hand-knit afghans by Hanni Mosig and a family tree genealogy by Dale Sheldon will be raffled; buy tickets at the Ridge Route Museum, $1 or 6 for $5 (661-245-7747).

•Coat Drive to help warm our mountain neighbors seeks clean, gently-used coats, hats, gloves and blankets. Bring your items to State Farm Insurance (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, #202, FP) and Pine Mountain Realty (16206 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village), Nov. 1–Dec. 3.

•Toys for Tots applications deadline is noon, December 2 at the Family Resource Center. Toy donation deadline is December 15, with all toys contributed by our community staying local. Call the Family Resource Center at 245-4303 for more details.

•Hey kids! Do you love taking photos? Enter the Mountain Youth Photo Contest. Submit your best photo before December 1 for a chance to win $100 (ages 6-18). Get the submission form on page 17 of this issue of The Mountain Enterprise. Bring your photo to download at The Mountain Enterprise in Frazier Park, the Frazier Park Library or Basecamp in Pine Mountain Village.

•It’s Novelist Writing Month. If you’re a budding writer or a pro, use a library computer or your own to come hash it out, 2-5 p.m. in the Frazier Park Library’s large meeting room (3732 Park Dr., Frazier Park).

Saturday, Nov. 30

•Visit the Artist’s Gallery during its big Grand Re-Opening (16331 Askin Dr., Pine Mtn. Village), 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Enjoy wine, cheese and a concert at 6:30 p.m. with a raffle and silent auction too!

•The annual Pine Mountain Holiday Craft Fair is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pine Mountain Clubhouse. Come to see all the wonderful crafts and gifts created by community artisans and craft vendors.
