• Kids 7-12, join the Junior Rangers Club! This fun, free program begins today, 10 a.m. at the Frazier Park library (and is each Friday
10-11 a.m. through the summer). The focus is on responsible recreation, outdoor safety, wildlife and environmental awareness.

• ‘Dancin’ On Top of the World’ by In the Wings Studio of Dance is 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) at Frazier Mountain High School cafetorium (700 Falcon Way, Lebec). Tickets are $12 adults; $10 ages 12 and under. Tickets are cash only at the door.

• Oso Town Council holds their election 8 a.m.–8 p.m., at Neenach Market (Omstar Plaza, 22847 West Ave. D, Lancaster 93536).

• The In the Wings Studio of Dance encore performance of ‘Dancin’ On Top of the World’ is 4 p.m. (doors open 3:30). See June 14 listing for location and price details.

• Neighborhood Watch Informational meeting for PMC residents concerned about the recent wave of burglaries is 5 p.m. at the Pine Mountain Christian Community church’s activity center (the place where you vote, 16281 Askin Drive, Pine Mountain Village). Local law enforcement will be there to help you ‘take back your own neighborhood’ with information, tips and resources for protecting your homes.

• Experience the magic of a Night Hike 8:15–10:15 p.m. at Wind Wolves Preserve. The full moon will be aglow and naturalists may lead sensory awareness activities, and discuss nighttime wonders like nocturnal animals. Blacklights may be provided to discover glow in the dark critters. This hike, about 2 miles total, is great for ages 6 and up (no strollers). * A Father’s Day Barbecue Picnic is 2–5 p.m. on the patio at the PMC clubhouse. This year will feature live music by Odie Crabtree. A plate with BBQ chicken, burger or Vienna hotdog and sides is $10, with no advance purchase required.

• Falcon’s Nest Tri-Tip fundraiser for the FMHS boys and girls basketball teams is Saturday, June 22, 5–7 p.m. (3216 Mt. Pinos Way, Frazier Park), featuring live music to accompany the yummy eats!

• Everything you’ve always wanted to know about Wind Wolves Preserve will be addressed Sunday, June 23, 2 p.m. at the Condor Group of the Sierra Club, in the PMC clubhouse Condor Room. A representative from Wind Wolves will discuss their wildlands conservancy, habitat preservation, reintroduction of Tule elk, classes and workshops and volunteer opportunities. All are welcome, no reservations needed.

• Open House Mixer at Ridge Route Communities Museum Thursday, June 27, 6 p.m., is an opportunity for Mountain Community businesses and the Frazier Mountain Chamber of Commerce to mingle. Bring a potluck snack and an item to raffle.

• A fundraiser bike run to support Tom Roberts is Saturday, June 29 at Cuddy Hall (335 Lakewood Drive, Frazier Park). Pre-registration (at JerseyRun.Eventbrite.com) fee is $25 for solo rider / $35 for rider and passenger; day-of fees are $30 and $40. Registrations starts at 8 a.m.; non-riders should arrive at 11 a.m. There will be raffle and 50/50 drawings, music and great food (meal ticket only is $10), all hosted by Tom’s bike club, Knights Cavalry.

• Third Annual Valley Fever Walk is Saturday, June 29, 8 a.m.–noon at Apollo Park (4555 W. Ave. G, Lancaster, 93536). Register at 7:15 a.m. This is a free, pet- and child-friendly event that includes information on valley fever, ‘Talk to the Doc,’ vendors, kids’ activities, music, dance entertainment, a raffle and more.

• Public comment is being accepted on the proposed Tejon Indian Tribe Trust Acquisition and Casino Project (306 acres near Mettler, at Interstate 5 and the 99, just north of Outlets at Tejon).
