• Don’t miss the last day of the Friends of the Library Used Book Sale, featuring the famous Buck-a-Bag deal! It’s 12–4 p.m. at Frazier Park Library (opening special hours for the sale today). Any child attending gets to pick out a free book!
* PMC New Members Orientation is 1:30–2 p.m., at the clubhouse pool pavilion. New members have received invitations. There is also a Meet and Greet reception for all members, in the Condor Room, 1:30–3:30 p.m. This is a great time to ask all your burning questions about PMC life (2524 Beechwood Way, Pine Mountain Club).
* Concert on the Greens in Pine Mountain Club features the band Cale’, 4:30–7 p.m. They will be bringing Latin fusion vibes. It is on the PMC golf course (2524 Beechwood Way), so bring blankets and beach chairs. Food and drinks are available for purchase (no outside food or drink). Hollywood Hillbillies plays in the Condor Room at 7:30.
• Bingo is back—VFW makes it happen once again! 7–9 p.m. at the VFW Hall (612 Canada Trail, Frazier Park, 661.245.3273). No latecomers, please, as no cards will be sold after 7:30 p.m. Everyone is requested to wear masks.

• You are invited to a Mountain Communities Collaborative meeting, Thursday, Aug. 26, 9:30–11 a.m. via Zoom, hosted by the Mountain Communities Family Resource Center (MCFRC). This meeting will cover the cooling center updates, the Back to School Supply Drive and will also welcome new Frazier Park Library associate Chase Steigleder. • A book launch party in the outdoor courtyard at Adventure Ink Bookstore is Sunday, Aug. 29, 2 p.m., for Deep in the Forest, Beyond the Clouds, a collection of true stories by members of the Mountain Communities. There will be music, entertainment, refreshments, readings and a book signing.
• The ‘Everything Exchange’ is Sunday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., at the Lampkin Park basketball courts in PMC (6410 Askin Dr.). This is an annual event in support of the entire Mountain Community, where you can take what you want (for free), and donate what you don’t need—ideally in advance, by calling Pam, 661.242.2035, or Tara, 661.242.6901. The exchanges are always fun social events. At this one, for everyone’s health and wellbeing, social distancing and masks are mandatory.
