* A book launch party in a shady outdoor courtyard is 2 p.m. at Adventure Ink bookstore (16229 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village) for Deep in the Forest, Beyond the Clouds, a collection of true stories by members of the Mountain Communities. There will be music, entertainment, refreshments, readings, door prizes and a book signing. This is a free event.

• Frazier Mountain High School Homecoming is right around the corner! The fun happens Friday, Sept. 3, starting with parade merriment at 6 p.m., and then a 7 p.m. kickoff for the FMHS vs. Cuyama game. Tickets are $6 at the door (700 Falcon Way).

The Craft Faire is back with all the fall items, Saturday, Sept. 4, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Midway Market in Lake of the Woods (6032 Frazier Mountain Park Road). Come visit all your crafty neighbors and grab some great handmade decor for your home.

• A unique outdoor theater event: Wee Three Kings at the new Lake of the Woods Amphitheater is Sunday, Sept. 5, 7 p.m., a one-night-only situation. • Frazier Mountain High School welcomes the third FFA Farmers Market, Saturday, Sept. 11, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at FMHS. All vendors are invited, $25 per space. • On September 11, join the 21st Annual Ride/Walk to Remember through Cuddy Valley. It is a local tradition to honor those lost as a result of the 9/11 attacks of 2001. Riders meet at 11 a.m. at the Piñon Pines mailboxes. Motorists through Cuddy Valley are welcome to wave or park and observe the procession. (Please don’t honk, it can startle the horses if you are too close.)

• The ‘Everything Exchange’ is Sunday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., at the Lampkin Park basketball courts in PMC (6410 Askin Dr.). This is an annual event, where you can take what you want (for free), and donate what you don’t need—ideally in advance, by calling Pam, 661.242.2035, or Tara, 661.242.6901. • Mountain Community Chamber of Commerce Town Meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 14, 6:30 p.m. at Frazier Mountain Park, the opportunity to get your voice out there and share your ideas, suggestions, input for park improvements, renovations and changes.

• Buckland Liquidators Swap Meet Sale is Saturday, Sept. 18, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Vendors are needed—if you would like to join, call 661.573.6816. It is $10 per spot, and everyone is welcome. Pita Paradise food truck will be there to make this a tasty swap meet!
