• The 2022 Polar Bear Plunge is Saturday, Jan. 1, 11 a.m., at the McMurtrey Aquatic Center (1325 Q Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301). At this annual event, hosted by Bakersfield Dept. of Recreation and Parks, participants can slide into icy water and swim their way to a cup of hot chocolate.
