• Plan ahead for the Keep Kern Beautiful Community Clean-up event, Saturday, Jan. 22. Keep Kern Beautiful is encouraging residents to participate in individual community clean-up efforts. Volunteers are asked to spend some of their day cleaning up areas around their neighborhoods and to share photos of their work by tagging @KernCountyPublicWorks and #KeepKernBeautiful. • The Housing Choice Voucher waiting list opens Friday, Jan. 28. This is the first time the waiting list has been reopened since 2012. Voucher recipients are selected randomly each month.
