• The Spring Wildfire Preparedness Fair comes to Frazier Mountain Park, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. (3801 Park Dr., FP). Bring your family for fire engines, helicopter demonstrations, face painting, and Smokey Bear! Join this great chance to learn about emergency readiness with your community. Food and drinks will be provided at no cost thanks to the support of Kern County Firefighters Local 1301. This event has no cost to attend.
• Don’t miss your chance: The Ridge Route Road Tour is 10 a.m. Reservations are already full today, but the wait list is open for the return of this event Saturday, May 7. This three hour tour comes with a guided historical perspective from Gorman to the Tumble Inn, and includes a handout of photos from the old road stops. The cost is $15. • A Free Bulky Residential Waste Collection event comes to Frazier Park, Saturday, April 30, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. (3801 Park Drive). Drive in and drop off your home appliances, furniture, mattresses and other unwanted household items. Hazardous, green and construction waste not accepted.
• Join Frazier Mountain Little League’s Cornhole Competition, Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m., at Tejon Fields (4265 Lebec Road, Lebec). The competition begins at 11 a.m. Food trucks and beer sales, proceeds support FMLL. Entry is $50 per team, with cash prizes up to $300.
