• The 37th Annual Civil War Reenactment comes to Fort Tejon today and tomorrow, Sunday June 5, opening at 9 a.m. (4201 Fort Tejon Road, Lebec). Watch skirmishes and demonstrations based on eastern United States tactics during the America Civil War. Meet soldiers in authentic regalia, tour their camps, shop Sutler’s Row, visit the field hospital, hear cannons roar…and more. Entrance fees are $20 for ages 15 and up, $10 for ages 6–14, and free for children under 5 years and active military members who can provide their military ID. Saturday’s performance even includes a “Period Base Ball” game. All can join in to play!

• Free Walk-Up Mobile Vaccine Clinic hosted by Mountain Communities Family Resource Center, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Frazier Park Community Center (3801 Park Drive, FP). Bring your vaccine card! Free Pfizer first-dose covid-19 vaccine, rapid antigen testing, booster and flu shot.

• Park Day Means Famiy Fun at Frazier Mountain Park! Join Mountain Communities Family Resource Center and First 5 Kern, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. for fun family activities. The Forest Service, Kern County Libraries, Kern Fire Safe Council, The Earth Organization, California Highway Patrol, Frazier Mountain Little League, The Mountain Enterprise and more offer games, activities, crafts, snacks and prizes. Everyone is welcome.

• Outlets at Tejon launches their Summer Concert Series with a performance by Jim Ranger, 6–7:30 p.m. (5701 Outlets at Tejon Pkwy, Arvin). Jim Ranger was a finalist on the hit TV show, The Voice. Shop and listen or head over to set up a picnic with blankets between Cinnabon and Michael Kors. Food trucks will be available for fun treats and snacks. Admission is free.

• The 37th Annual Civil War Reenactment at Fort Tejon continues, 9 a.m. (4201 Fort Tejon Road, Lebec). Sunday’s reenactment includes a Presidential Press Conference presented by President Abraham Lincoln, 10 a.m.—with you asking questions—followed by two battle reenactments, the Gettysburg Address and the Surrender at Appomattox.

• Read Beyond the Beaten Path. The 2022 Summer Reading Challenge Begins Now, presented by Kern County Libraries. From June through July, Frazier Park Library encourages all ages to participate in their summer reading challenge. Sign up on Beanstack.com or use their mobile app to earn and track digital badges and record reading sessions. This year’s theme includes books about nature and the outdoors. • Meet the talented quilters and see their display of handmade quilted blankets, Saturday, June 11, 5 p.m. at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Ln., PMC). This artists’ reception is open to the public. Quilts are available for purchase. Call 661.858.3130 for details.

• Summer kicks off at Frazier Park Library, Tuesday, June 14, 12–2 p.m. with games, arts and crafts, a magician, balloon animals, ice cream and summer reading programs. Visit Frazier Park Library or call 661.245.1267 for more information.

• The Boys and Girls Club offers Frazier Mountain’s Kids’ Summer-School Camp starting Monday, June 13, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and lasting until July 8. Students must sign up for summer school to be eligible. Over four weeks, kids will learn about California and the world through culture and art studies, new experiences and activities. This camp is free. • A Health Fair sponsored by Southwest Healthcare District comes to town Saturday, June 25, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at Frazier Park Elementary School.
