• Lockwood Hillbillies take the stage at La Sierra Mexican Restaurant, 6 p.m. in the lounge (3500 Mt. Pinos Way, FP). All are invited.

• Ridge Route Communities Museum hosts their free patio events beginning tonight, 7 p.m. at Ridge Route Communities Museum (3515 Park Drive, FP). This first event is an informative talk about California Independence held by Chandra Mead. See ad on page 4 for more information and upcoming dates of events.

* Karson City Rebels perform a mix of country and rock music at the Condor Lounge, 7–10 p.m. (2524 Beechwood Way, PMC). Events at the Condor Lounge are for PMC members only.

• Frazier Park Public Utility District Board of Directors holds a public hearing 6 p.m. at the Frazier Park Recreation Building (3801 Park Drive, FP) to consider a water rate and fee adjustment proposal for all users. For any questions on the basis of the proposal, please call 661.245.3734. Those opposed to the fee adjustment must either deliver a written protest to FPPUD’s district office (4020 Park Drive, FP), deliver in person at the hearing July 7, or submit your protest via mail to P.O. Ongoing and Upcoming

• Beat the heat at our local Kern County Cooling Center. The Frazier Park Recreation Building opens to the public when the temperatures of our area are forecasted above 93 degrees Fahrenheit. Masks and social distancing are required. This facility is closed when temperatures are predicted to be below 93 degrees.

• A Garden Market with organic produce and crafts for sale is at the Pine Mountain Village Center gazebo, 12–4 p.m. (behind Pine Mountain General Store, 2513 Freeman Dr., FP) every second and fourth Sunday of the month.

• Join the Ridge Route Communities Museum for their free patio events, Saturdays in July, 7 p.m. at Ridge Route Communities Museum (3515 Park Drive, FP). The next event is an informative talk about the Castac Indians, held by Kevin Woten, July 9, 7 p.m. See ad on page 4 for more information and upcoming dates of events.

• Register now for the Country Style Rib Basket weaving class, Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at Ridge Route Communities Museum (3515 Park Drive, FP). Even if you’ve already participated in the traditional pine needle basket class, you can learn a new method of rib basket weaving in this class. Bring a friend or relative and learn together. • Frazier Park Library’s Bookworms Book Club meets to discuss One Italian Summer, Wednesday, July 13, 4–5 p.m. at Frazier Park Library (3732 Park Drive, FP). The Bookworms Book Club meets during the second Wednesday of each month. This month’s read, by Rebecca Serle, is about the transformational love between mothers and daughters.
