• The Vine Pregnancy Center hosts a pancake breakfast fund raiser, 8–11 a.m. at Cuddy Hall (335 Lakewood Place, LOW). The cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children. All proceeds help support the Vine Pregnancy Center.

• Pine Mountain Club’s Concert on the Greens series presents Cheers Elephant and Rich Herman Band, 4:30–7 p.m. and 7–10 p.m., on the greens at the Pine Mountain Club Property Owners Association’s golf course (2524 Beechwood Way, PMC). Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

• Lockwood Hillbillies take the stage performing outlaw country music at La Sierra Mexican Restaurant, 6 p.m. in the lounge (3500 Mt. Pinos Way, FP). All are invited.

• Ridge Route Communities Museum’s free patio events conclude with tonight’s special speaker, 7 p.m. at Ridge Route Communities Museum (3515 Park Drive, FP). Members are invited out to learn about local earthquakes with Matthew Herman from Buena Vista Museum.

Ongoing and Upcoming

• Beat the heat at our local Kern County Cooling Center. The Frazier Park Recreation Building opens to the public when the temperatures of our area are forecasted above 93 degrees Fahrenheit. Masks and social distancing are required. This facility is closed when temperatures are predicted to be below 93 degrees.

• A Garden Market with organic produce and crafts for sale is at the Pine Mountain Village Center gazebo, 12–4 p.m. (behind Pine Mountain General Store, 2513 Freeman Dr., FP) every second and fourth Sunday of the month.

• Mountain Communities Family Resource Center’s School Supplies Drive is accepting donations now, Monday–Friday, until Friday, August 12. See flyer on page 3 for a list of items needed this year. Donations can be dropped off at the MCFRC office (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, Suite 201, FP).

• The 54th annual Fiesta Days celebration is back, 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, August 5 and 6, and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday, August 7. See live performances, shop artisan and commercial vendors, watch the parade, join a contest, play at the carnival, and so much more. Admission and parking are free. Tickets for the carnival are sold at Ace Hardware, Mountain Top Video, Sue’s Tavern, Old Ridge Route Antiques, and Rick’s. Carnival tickets are $25 for a sheet of 24. • Meet the Candidates and listen to a forum on agriculture at the Ventura County Fair, Friday, August 5, 5–7 p.m. in the Ventura County Fair Ag building (10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura). Candidates have been invited to participate in discussions and present their views on agricultural issues. Those in attendance will also be given the opportunity to ask the candidates questions.
